Congratulations on choosing Breckenridge for your ski holiday. With new lifts and a new peak opening this year, you are sure to find new adventures and great conditions. If you aren’t planning on bringing your own skis and gear, you’ll need to rent skis in Breckenridge, but the good news is that A Racer’s Edge has the rental skis, boots and poles you need to make sure you get the most out of your time in Breckenridge.
It’s easy to overlook, but you’ll want your boots to fit perfectly no matter how you ski, so we take the time to insure you get sized properly for your rental boots. First we’ll have you slip off your shoes so that we can measure your foot. While you have your shoes off, we’ll let you know about the right socks to wear while skiing. A thin, sports sock of any material but cotton will serve you well. Thick socks will tend to cut off the circulation and actually result in your feet getting cold. It is a great idea to bring your ski socks with you when you are getting your rentals.
The correct boot will fit snugly and your toes will just touch the front of the boot when you first put them on. We’ll show you how to adjust the buckles for a comfortable fit and have you flex in the boots to check for secure hold around the forefoot and heel. The tongue of the boot should be smooth. Our rental ski boots are made by Rossignol and feature a classic 4 buckle system that will give you great control of your skis when you hit the slopes.
When you rent skis with us, we’ll also take the time to discuss how you like to ski and offer you the rental ski that best matches your skills. Intermediate skiers will benefit from our High Performance rental skis. More advanced skiers will probably want to try our Demo Package which puts you on an advanced current model ski from Rossignol, Fischer or Kastle. We will size the rental skis to match your height and ability. More advanced skiers will be on slightly longer skis than intermediates. In general, though, your skis will reach to your chin or at most the top of your head. We’ll help you understand the operation of the bindings on your rental skis as well as find the right poles and help you with helmets or any other gear you need to ensure a safe and fun day skiing at Breckenridge.
When you rent skis in Breckenridge at A Racer’s Edge, you will know that you are getting the best possible rental skis, boots and poles along with advice and help that will make your visit a memorable one.
