It is officially spring! This might be a problem for some as they didn’t get in enough turns (is it really possible to get enough?) On the other hand, this is a time for deals and planning for your next ski season. It can be a little counter intuitive…looking for ski jackets or a new helmet in March, but similar to buying your holiday gifts out of season, the tail end of the spring skiing season can be a great time to pick up a deal on winter gear, and even try it out for a few days while there is still snow on the slopes and the sun is out.
If you think about it from the perspective of the retailers, they aren’t interested in carrying their stock over the summer and will be looking to move products out the door often with big savings going to you. Look for tent sales and end of season clearance opportunities on new gear as well as demo gear. As you probably know, the manufacturers are always upgrading their products so this year’s merchandise is next year’s ‘old’ goods.
One of the other tips our Breckenridge ski rental crew wanted to pass along, is that now is a great time to rent a pair of demo skis if you haven’t tried them out all season. Getting out on a pair of this year’s Rossignols or Kastles might be a reason to spend another day or two on the slopes before the snow disappears.
At A Racer’s Edge, all of our ski boots are marked down as much as 30%. Last year’s Shred helmets are now 50% off and virtually all merchandise in the store including gloves, glasses and other accessories are up to 50% off…so stop on in for spring ski rentals, discounts on helmets and equipment, and a few last runs while you still can.
